Initiative X
Every great restaurant in London is one of one. IX is what happens when they start operating as one of many.
Members, suppliers, training, certification — independents reinvent each one alone. The infrastructure that chains take for granted, independents pay for in time, cash, and burnout.
The people who build the business have no ownership in its upside. High turnover, no alignment, no compounding. The talent layer leaves before it can become senior.
Independents negotiate alone. Buying power, capital access, distribution, marketing reach — every leverage point assumes scale a single venue can’t produce. The system rewards chains and punishes the businesses holding it up.
A seat at the table isn’t metaphor — it’s mechanism. Every party that creates value in IX holds a stake in what the network becomes.
Members earn IX Rewards on every pound spent at a certified venue — converting monthly into IXT, the network’s settlement unit, pegged 1 IXT = £1. Loyalty here isn’t points that expire; it’s value the whole network honours.
Certified operators place a share of their venue’s value into the network as an IXB position — a placement, not an equity handover. It returns to the venue at appreciated value. The network grows because its venues do — not by extracting rent from them.
Suppliers and service providers can take part of every invoice in IXT and hold it like everyone else. Introductions cost 3% — half is minted straight back to the supplier as IXT. Existing relationships: always 0%.
The chefs, bartenders, and hosts who build the venue earn IXT through a network-wide Employee Benefit Trust as it rolls out. The people on the floor share the network’s upside — not just an hourly wage.
Every path into IX starts free. Whether you want to join the community, certify your venue, become a trusted service provider, or explore investment, it starts the same way — a short form and a conversation.
Everything a large operating group gives its venues — shared members, buying power, capital, development support — except the independents own it. Free 10-pillar assessment to join.
